10 Skirt & Tee Looks : Fashion Girls Love

Skirts simply don't get enough credit.  Me & Kay know what  an underratted wardrobe staple they are.  Skirts give you the flow and feel of a dress but you can mix & match the tops to keep them looking fresh.  The styling options are endless.   One fashion trend we just can't get enough of is pairing a skirt with a cool t-shirt.  Especially as a kid, you do not need to be dressed up all the time, so just pair your skirt with sneakers and a cool tee and you are practically ready for any occasion.  

For Kay's look above we wanted to give her a little funk with still looking cute.  We just got these new Magenta Foil Skirts in from Lola and the Boys, we decided to use that as a starting point.  The color is so fun and vibrant and the little rainbow elastic waistband puts it over the top.  Kay had mentioned before that she wanted the Babe Tee from Wildfox, so I decided why not pair they together, we love mix and matching items that usually wouldn't be paired together.  At this point there was a lot going in with the look so when selecting a jacket we didn't want it to be too loud.  Also Kay is now 11 going on 16 (lol) so she was concerned the look was going to be to young so we added our Teddy Faux Fur Coat to give it a sophisticated edge.  Finally we went with a flat black combat boot to give it the perfect blend of cute and cool.  These boots are actually from Forever 21, I love them for her because they are very lightweight, since we live in South Florida we don't like anything lined or structured.  Remember ladies kids are only young once so push the colorful & fun fashion limits, they can totally get away with it.

Here is another skirt and t-shirt combo we love.  Once again it is a foil skirt from Lola and The Boys, shop our Goldie Foil Skirt.  You can't go wrong pairing a skirt with a graphic tee, especially one with a cute saying like this Your Are So Loved thank from Spiritual Gangster Kids. We added some star see thru socks and some white kicks and she is ready to go!

As you can see you really can't go wrong with skirts and tee combo.  If you have more of a daring style add the graphic tee if you want something more subdued try a basic tee like our Luxe Black Tee from Mia New York Clothing.  Boots and sneakers are our favorite shoes to pair with it but you can go more fancy by adding a sparkly ballet flat.
